Keys is the seventeenth episode of the first season of The Pretender which first aired April 5th, 1997 on NBC in the United States. It features the first appearance by recurring guest star Harve Presnell as Mr. Parker, father of Miss Parker.
Jarod finds himself at the mercy of Hurricane Cassandra with Miss Parker close on his heels. He is distracted by a young and very ill refugee (Simone) from Haiti and his intent on avenging the death of Simone's parents by making the patrol officer who left them to die feel the full onslaught of the storm, tied up outdoors.
Miss Parker is on a mission to prove she can catch up with Jarod without pressure from Mr. Raines, and in spite of the category 5 storm bearing down on them. During the hurricane, she has flashbacks of traumatic events involving her mother on a similar stormy night when she was young, which she believed to be the fault of her father.

- While hearing about Jarod's time as an alligator wrestler, Miss Parker comments that he's "a regular Tarzan". Michael T. Weiss would actually voice Tarzan in Disney's The Legend Of Tarzan and its episode compilation movie Tarzan And Jane.
